A letter from WIN Political
It’s been a hard political year for pro-choice, Democratic women. But in this difficult time, WIN is fighting forward. I want to share with you some of the ways WIN is taking action to represent our pro-choice, Democratic membership and make sure Congress hears our concerns.
WIN co-signed a letter opposing Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Gorsuch has an ugly history of restricting reproductive choice and freedom, and we demand a Supreme Court that will defend our reproductive rights. We are telling Congress loud and clear that anti-choice Justices do not reflect our values —and the message is being heard.
WIN continues to push forward with a number of upcoming political events. Next week, the WIN Campaigns Team is hosting a training on running for office. In April, the WIN Political Action Team will be joining JWI’s Young Leadership Network to lobby congress on issues including sexual assault, the Violence Against Women Act re-authorization, domestic violence, and reproductive rights.
Together, we will continue to support and strengthen female leadership in elected office and on the ground because when more women speak up, we WIN.
WIN is here to celebrate our champions, fight for our values, and help all of us navigate the current administration. If you have any questions about WIN political, or ideas for what you would like to see WIN working on as we move forward, please reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
