The Women’s Information Network (WIN) will celebrate its signature event Women Opening Doors for Women (WODW) tonight. This year’s theme “Who Run the World? We Run the World” is a nod to Beyonce’s hit song and the empowering community that WIN provides to young, pro-choice, Democratic women leaders in the DC area.
The annual event includes a networking reception and brief awards presentation, followed by over 20 simultaneous, intimate dinner parties held throughout the metro D.C. area. These small, informal dinners, each with a unique theme, pay homage to the organization’s founding around the dinner table of Karen Mulhauser.
This year, Karen Mulhauser, who has long served as the Advisory Council Chair, is being bestowed with the honor of Chair Emeritus in recognition of her incredible service to WIN. We’re excited to announce the next Advisory Council Chair during the reception.
“Tonight we’re celebrating our past successes and looking to the future,” said Jeryl Hayes, Chair of WIN. “As an organization, we’re stronger than ever, and proud to continue to provide our diverse membership with the tools, community, and networking opportunities they need to move up the ladder of success. Our members truly do ‘run the world’!”
The event details:
Reception, 5:30 -7:00 p.m.
at the AFL-CIO at 815 16th St NW
WODW Dinners, 8:00-10:00 p.m.
at various locations throughout metro DC

WIN’s Women Opening Doors for Women (WODW) celebrates the founding of the organization 26 years ago around a dining room table, when women came together to help each other achieve professional success. WODW consists of two parts: a networking reception followed by simultaneous dinner parties. Immediately after the reception, the dinner parties take place in private homes and businesses throughout the DC area. WODW dinner parties are like the very first WIN event — an intimate, informal, issue-focused gathering.
