WIN is run by an elected Executive Committee (EC) women responsible for coordinating the day to day functions of the organization. Headed by WIN’s Chair, the EC meets biweekly to manage administrative duties, plan new initiatives, and develop strategic plans for the organization.
This is a two-year term position with service in the first year defined as Chair, the second year as Immediate Past Chair. The Chair is the principal of the organization, chief fundraiser, and the leader of the EC and organization. She works closely with the Vice Chair on the day-to-day activities of the organization.
This is a one-year term. The Vice Chair works closely with the Chair on day-to-day business of the organization and helps keep the trains running on time. She serves in the Chair’s absence. The Vice Chair is also responsible for hiring and supervising the WINtern.
This is a one-year term. The Finance Director fills in when both the Chair and Vice Chair are absent. She maintains all financial records, accounts, insurance policies, and taxes for the organization and manages the budget. She also prepares and files the annual form 990. She chairs the Budget Subcommittee to optimize WIN’s assets and savings.
Advisory Council Director
This is a one-year term. The Advisory Council Director is the liaison between the Executive Committee and the Advisory Council. She updates the AC regularly and thinks creatively about how to engage these women in WIN’s activities and fundraising efforts.
This is a one-year term. The Communications Director is responsible for all of the internal and external communication for the organization. She directs the organization’s message and tone and creates and executes communications strategies to support both EC members and other WIN leadership teams.
This is a one-year term. The Development Director guides WIN’s fundraising and motivates volunteers to raise money and in-kind donations. She devises organizational and individual fundraising plans and works to optimize WIN’s outreach and potential.
This is a one-year term. The Events Director works closely with the Development Director as she oversees all aspects of programming for WIN’s two signature events: the Young Women of Achievement Awards (YWA) and Women Opening Doors for Women (WODW).
This is a one-year term. The Membership Director is responsible for developing recruitment strategies to grow WIN’s membership and developing retention strategies. She also oversees the WIN Ambassadors program and organizes monthly WIN 101 and Membership Happy Hour events.
This is a one-year term. The Networks Director oversees WIN’s 19 networks and ensures regular, high-quality network programming and activities. She provides leadership training and guidance to the team of over 40 leaders and serves as the primary conduit of communication between the networks and the EC.
This is a one-year term. The Political Director sets the political agenda for WIN and connects WINners with educational, professional, and volunteer opportunities in the DC-area political community. She acts as a liaison between the EC and WIN’s Congressional Council, and oversees WIN’s political teams to implement the political plan for the year.
This is a one-year term. The Technology Director ensures that WIN utilizes technology to best serve, connect, and mobilize our members. The Technology Director is responsible for overseeing the design and functionality of the WIN website, WINList, email accounts, online data management, and office hardware. She is the primary conduit of communication between WIN and IT vendors.
Training and Partnerships Director
This is a one-year term. The Training and Partnerships Director oversees the Professional Development Series (PDS) and the planning of signature trainings each year. Additionally, she is responsible for both the recruitment and management of community partnerships between WIN and other non-profits, businesses, and membership-based organizations.
