Young Women of Achievement Awards

The Young Women of Achievement (YWA) Awards is the Women's Information Network's (WIN) annual celebration of highly talented up-and-coming young women leaders making a difference in the community. YWA acknowledges young, pro-choice, Democratic women of excellence who have made strides in their fields and a real difference in the world. YWA nominees are pro-choice, Democratic women who are 35 years of age or younger and live in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Members of WIN and the WIN Advisory Council, a group of high-achieving women who support the organization, select six awardees from the nominations.

The event begins with a networking reception that serves as way for WIN members to mingle in a professional setting and have the opportunity to learn more about WIN programming. It also is a great opportunity to meet Advisory Council members, the Executive Committee, the Network Council and the YWA Nominees themselves. The award ceremony includes a keystone speech, given by an accomplished woman. Some past speakers include Cecile Richards, Congresswomen Donna Edwards, and Neera Tanden. After the speech, the nominees are recognized and the winners are announced. Overall, YWA is the perfect way to honor distinguished rising stars in the pro-choice, Democratic community of women in DC!

This year's event will be held on Thursday, February 26 at the Carnegie Institute of Washington (1530 P St NW).
