Previous WIN Membership Happy Hours included:
DC V-Day Happy Hour - March 2010
WIN Membership joined a select group of WIN members in an effort to promote V-day (international day raising awareness about violence against women) and support WINners who preformed the Vagina Monologues and a Memory, a Monologue, a Rant and a Prayer. WINners heard from AC member Pat Reuss, and speakers from Amnesty International about the importance of passing the International Violence Against Women's Act. WINners also participated in raffles, bought tickets to the V-day shows, and had fun supporting women for a great cause. DC Vday was a smashing success!
Keep VA Blue! - October 2009
WIN Membership and VA is for WINners Political team combined forces for this politically focused Happy Hour where WIN joined forces with over 15 other Democratic, progressive organizations to Keep Virginia Blue in the 2009 elections. Congressman Tom Perriello spoke, and Obama For America's Mitch Stewart rallied attendees to sign up to phone bank, knock on doors and volunteer for Virgina candidates. Over 100 attendees came together to support the cause!
Help WIN Save WEAVE Happy Hour - September 2009
WIN hosted a Happy Hour last fall with open bar specials that over 140 WIN members and supporters attended at Current Sushi bar in downtown Washington. WEAVE, Women Empowered Against Violence, faced financial trouble, and WIN stepped up to help a great organization in the DC area to fund raise, raise awareness, and support a fellow organization that helps women in the community.
